Women face a unique set of challenges and hurdles to success in the legal tech industry. Fewer than 15% of legal tech founders are women, according to a study done by legal tech company co-founder Kristin Paladin. Women in legal tech, either representing or founding tech companies, have raised the gold standard of success. For 5 years now, the Women of Legal Tech Summit has provided an opportunity to bring many of those women together to celebrate each other, form collaborations, grow stronger together and brainstorm new ways to break down barriers to women in legal tech.

ABA Women Rainmakers is pleased to continue facilitating the conversation for women in legal tech again. Additionally, the ABA Legal Technology Resource Center (LTRC) is pleased to make its eighth annual announcement of its Women of Legal Tech honorees. LTRC’s Women of Legal Tech initiative intended to encourage diversity and celebrate women in legal technology. This initiative launched in 2015 with a list of innovators and leaders in legal technology. That list now includes over 130 talented and influential women leaders who are recognized annually at the Women of Legal Tech Summit.

Mandatory Covid-19 In-Person Meeting Policy

The ABA Board of Governors recently adopted a vaccine policy for in person meetings effective November 1, 2021. Due to the ongoing COVID pandemic, meeting attendees are now required to provide proof of full vaccination as defined by the CDC, or proof of a negative viral COVID test administered by a healthcare professional taken within 3-4 days of the meeting arrival date to attend in person.

The ABA has partnered with CrowdPass, a third-party group, which will enable all attendees to provide easy proof of COVID-related documentation needed to make entry into the meeting faster, safer, and more secure for everyone onsite. All registrants (including sponsors and exhibitors) and guests will be required to prove documentation and will receive an email approximately one- week prior to the meeting with instructions and a link to Crowd Pass
